She is a retired Consumer Safety Inspector at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she worked for 15 years. Before that she worked for the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs for 5 years. She worked at the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry for 5 years as an Occupational Health Compliance Officer.
